Professor Magnus Bruze

Dr. Magnus Bruze is a Senior Professor of Occupational Dermatology, Lund University, Skåne University Hospital, Malmö, Sweden. His research interests include occupational dermatoses, contact dermatitis, and photodermatology. He has been the main tutor for 11 doctoral theses at Lund University and opponent and evaluator for doctoral theses defended in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, and the Netherlands. He participates in research nationally and internationally within various fields such as metals, polymers, fragrances, photosensitizers, and dyes.
Dr. Bruze received his medical degree from Lund University, Malmö. After completing his residency at Växjö Lasarett, Växjö, Småland, Sweden, he undertook his dermatology residency in dermatology at Lund University, Malmö General Hospital, Malmö, Sweden under the leadership of Professor Bertil Magnusson, one of the founders of the International Contact Dermatitis Research Group (ICDRG). Thereafter he was trained in occupational dermatology at Lund University, Lunds Lasarett, Lund, Sweden under the leadership of another of the ICDRG founders, Professor Sigfrid Fregert.
Dr. Bruze is a member and past President of the European Environmental and Contact Dermatitis Research Group. He joined the ICDRG in 2005 and is the current President. He is also a member of the Swedish Contact Dermatitis Research Group as well as the Swedish Society of Contact Dermatitis.
He is the past President of the European Contact Dermatitis Society (ESCD) and member of ESCD’s Fragrance Group and the EDEN Fragrance Study Group. Dr. Bruze is a member and past-President of the Swedish Society of Dermatology and Venereology. He has served as the Swedish board member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. He is a member of the Expert Panel for Fragrance Safety.
